Brick Builders Illustrated Bible Review and Giveaway!

I have three boxes of Lego-style building blocks in my preschool class. The 4-year-olds I teach love to snap the pieces together creating a world of possibilities. I have the joy of watching their eyes glisten with excitement and confidence as they rush to show me their new creations. My preschoolers build houses, bridges, and robots from these plastic snap-together blocks. Using these popular toys as a theme for this book is one reason why I was delighted when I received my copy of the new Brick Builders Illustrated Bible, published by ZonderKidz (a trademark of Zondervan).

Anthony Evans created the illustrations using images of brick-building pieces. He snapped together relatable and engaging Old and New Testament worlds which I found excite the imaginations of children as they learn about God. I love the way he built a land rich with color and vivid images.

Brick Builders was written by Emily Dammer and contains over 35 foundational and historical accounts of the Christian faith. Ms. Dammer crafted her words to reflect God as Master Builder. She skillfully lays precept upon precept so that children can begin to understand God’s word. Ms. Dammer takes her readers from creation through the end-times when Jesus makes all things new. I appreciate the Building Blocks feature included at the end of each chapter. These blocks contain a story take-away which guides the children in how to apply what they have learned.

As an early-education teacher and a Christian grandmother, I am always on the lookout for story book Bibles which are both entertaining and maintain the integrity of Scripture. This book fits the bill. I want to recommend the Brick Builders Illustrated Bible to all my friends and family. I believe it will help children develop a love for Bible time and create in them a desire to learn more. It is available now through Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and other retail outlets.
