I reached a milestone this week with my recovery. I woke up at 5:30 am, grabbed my walker which was by the bed and made the all familiar trek to the bathroom. I decided it was a little too early to get up so I laid back down for 30 more minutes. When I sat up on the side of the bed to grab my walker it wasn’t there. I’m feeling around in the dark wondering where in the world my walker is, and then it hit me. I got up and hobbled to the hallway unassisted. There sat my walker, right by the bathroomRead More →

Hi Everyone, Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog today. I am beginning a journey to wholeness with my granddaughter, Rhea Pollard. Take a few minutes and listen to my video blog (click the link below) so you can understand what it is we are trying to accomplish. As I headed out to the hospital I already had in mind this journey. God was preparing my heart to purposely live this journey in the public eye. Not because I’m special, by no means, but because this journey is not just for my benefit but for the benefit of others. Q: God has brought you through some difficult situations, Carla; tell us a little bit about your life: Carla:  Carrie, my life as a child was far from ideal.  Both my parents were heavy drinkers. Any substance abuse leads to abusive behavior. I never knew what to expect. My home life was unstable and neglectful. I was in a hurry to leave so that I could be inRead More →

Week 3: The Value of Fear I’m so glad you’re here and you’ve stuck with this study to the very end. I can’t believe we’re finishing up this week. It has been a blessing to share God’s word with you. I’m praying your faith is stronger and your fear is weaker. Everyone struggles with fear from time to time, but when faith triumphs in our struggle miracles happen. The Bible uses many different Hebrew words which are translated “fear.” One word is Arat, which means terror or dread. Another word is Pachad. It bears the meaning of standing in awe or reverence. God greatly blessesRead More →

Week 2: Victors Over Fear Wow, I am so thankful for God’s Word! In the Bible, God gives us examples not only of what to do, but of what not to do in life. In God’s wisdom, He encourages us to choose the path that leads to success by showing us the good steps, and the missteps others have made before us. We understand from this contrast that when we allow our steps to be guided by His Word and His Spirit we can live victorious, godly and purpose-filled lives. We had an interesting week following the path that led the Israelites and King SaulRead More →
