Passionate About Jesus!

Hi, I’m Carla Pollard and welcome to my blog.  It’s my prayer that the words shared on these pages will both magnify Jesus and encourage you in your journey with Him.

I love sharing the Word of God! I’ve lived a difficult life but God enabled me to overcome the odds. I’m convinced that what He’s done for me He’ll do for you. Through Christ we can take off the label of “victim” and put on the crown of “victor”!

Join me on this journey and together we’ll discover the depths of God’s love for us as He leads us to new heights of intimacy with Him. When we discover Jesus through the Bible we discover hope, joy, purpose and growth.

Why am I so passionate about Jesus? Let me share some of my story with you. At 17 I dropped out of school and left home. My parents cared but they were battling problems of their own and didn’t have the resources to guide me. I just knew that if I was in control of my life it would be better. It wasn’t long before I discovered I was wrong.

Extremely disillusioned I believed I didn’t deserve happiness or love.  My life took a tailspin.  I headed down the path of drugs and alcohol to deal with my pain. But the Lord saw value in me; the Lord had His eye on me.  (Mat. 10:29-31).

When my son was born I promised myself I wouldn’t raise him the way I was raised. Before long, I came face to face with the realization that I was helpless to keep that promise. It was then I realized I desperately needed a savior. It was pointless to look around for answers to life’s questions; I needed to look up.  Salvation belongs to the Lord.  He lifted my head (Psalm 3:1-4, 8).

I surrendered my life to Jesus in 1984.  I’ve never regretted that decision. My difficult and unstable life didn’t change overnight but something profound changed in me. The Lord changed the course of my life. Even though my journey is rocky at times the Lord is gracious.  He put a firm foundation under my feet.

The Lord has richly blessed my life. I married a good, Christian man. As a blended family I now have one son, three step-sons, one step-daughter, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He restored my broken, unstable and traumatic life and gave me purpose.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV).

God used the difficult circumstances of my life to bring me closer to him. God made a difference in my life. God is able to make a difference in your life, too.

It’s my desire to inspire you to cultivate a deeper and more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

I look forward to getting to know you as we, together, get to know Him more.

LadyCarla .you have such an awesome testimony of how God can still lead and guide you even in the miss of our trying to do it our way ,But it isn’t until we surrender our life to the holy God that we can see His Hand upon our life . Your story is so much like my own I think you so much for sharing.
